187pp. Original oatmeal cloth, lettered in red to upper board, in the original card slipcase with printed publisher's label. Book Near Fine, exceptionally clean and fresh internally and externally. Slipcase Very Good, with some marking, toning and general wear.
 
The second publication of Harrison of Paris, printed by R. Coulouma at Argenteuil under the direction of H. Barthelemy in September 1930. Illustrated throughout by Pierre Falke, with eight illustrations stencil-coloured in Paris by E. Charpentier. One of 840 copies printed on Montgolfier Freres' Annonay vellum, this copy numbered 781. A further 36 copies were issued on Japon vellum.
 
Contains seven of Bret Harte's best-known stories of the American West, including "The Luck of Roaring Camp", "The Outcasts of Poker Flat", "Tennessee's Partner", "Miggles" and "Brown of Calaveras". An attractive example of early Harrison of Paris book production, retaining its original slipcase.
