The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit by Beatrix Potter first edition 1906
POTTER, Beatrix. The Story of A Fierce Bad Rabbit.
London & New York: Frederick Warne & Co., [1906].
First UK edition, with first issue points. Oblong 12mo panorama (concertina format), consisting of 26 linen-backed panels complete as issued, each with colour illustration or text panel. Original green cloth boards with pictorial onlay of a rabbit to the upper board, decorative black stamping, silver-stamped clasp device to lower flap (the lower tab portion now partially lacking), rear board stamped Frederick Warne & Co. London & New York.
Some wear to boards and clasp area, the metal clasp lacking its lower tab. Internally complete with all 26 panels present. There is tide-marking to the lower edge of 11 panels, as visible in the images, not affecting legibility of text or illustrations. About very good.
A concertina panorama edition of Potter's satirical miniature tale contrasting the behaviour of a "good" rabbit and a destructive "bad" rabbit, illustrated throughout with the author's characteristic colour drawings. The work first appeared in 1906 and was issued in this unusual folding panorama format. An honest unrestored, about very good first issue copy. Quinby 12.
