An early Saint title featuring Simon Templar, first published in 1934. The novel continues Charteris’s series of adventures centred on the gentleman adventurer known as “The Saint.” Inspector Teal, one of the recurring figures in the series, appears here in a central role. Charteris (1907–1993) created the character in 1928; by the mid-1930s the Saint novels had established a substantial popular readership in Britain and abroad.
