Suffragettes March Thomas Edison 'Blue Edison Roll' c1912
[THOMAS A. EDISON, INC.] Suffragettes March (A. Liberati).
NJ, United States, c.1912.
Edison Blue Amberol cylinder record, height approx. 110 mm, diameter approx. 90 mm, in original cylindrical card container with printed lid and portrait label. Cylinder present and intact; original card container with surface wear, rubbing and age-toning consistent with use. The printed lid remains legible and complete. Very good.
Blue Amberol cylinder recording of Suffragettes March, performed by Liberati’s Band and issued under Edison catalogue number 2413. Blue Amberol records, introduced in 1912, were Edison’s durable celluloid-coated cylinders, intended for repeated playback and mass circulation. Surviving examples with explicit suffrage titles are uncommon, and examples retaining the original Edison container are scarcer still.
