Illustrated throughout with technical diagrams and photographic illustrations, including a double-page folding chassis plate and 11 tipped-in photographic plates of coachbuilt bodies. Original green printed card covers, string-bound as issued, upper cover with ornamental border and Daimler crest in gilt. Light handling and minor creasing to covers; internally clean and sound. Fold-out intact and plates securely mounted. A well-preserved very good example.
Sales catalogue for the Daimler Straight Eight, limousines for owner's predominantly with an employed driver. Issued shortly after the death of King George V (the title-page bearing the wording “By Appointment to His Majesty the Late King George V,” dating the brochure to 1936–37). The catalogue sets out the specifications of the eight-cylinder in-line engine and Fluid Flywheel transmission, with detailed technical illustrations and coachwork options by Windover, Hooper, and Rippon chassis. A rare pre-war Daimler catalogue, complete with its folding chassis illustration and full complement of tipped-in plates.
