Number 546 of 895 copies, printed in Baskerville italic on Arnold English unbleached pure-rag paper. 81 pp. Original red cloth, lettered in gilt to spine, retaining the original acetate jacket and yellow slipcase with printed red label. With the original four-page publisher's prospectus loosely inserted. Spine faded; slipcase unevenly toned with a small tear at the upper right corner, otherwise sound. Internally clean and very good.
 
Inscribed by Katherine Anne Porter on the front free endpaper: "To Mrs. William Leicester / From Katherine Anne Porter / With good wishes - / 19 November 1949."
 
Designed by Monroe Wheeler and printed by The Haddon Craftsmen at Camden, New Jersey. This was the thirteenth publication of Harrison of Paris. The present copy appears to contain the corrected tipped-in cancel leaf at pp. 51-52. A particularly pleasing complete copy, retaining the usually lost acetate jacket, slipcase and original publisher's prospectus, and additionally enhanced by Porter's dated presentation inscription.
