First edition. 320pp. Publisher’s original blue cloth, upper board lettered in black and with “LC” monogram to lower corner; spine lettered in black. A very good copy. Cloth clean and retaining good colour, with occasional light surface marks. Text block sound; pages clean with only faint foxing to the first and final leaves. Front free endpaper with two small pin holes, no previous ownership inscriptions.
 
An early Simon Templar (“The Saint”) novel. By 1932 the Saint had become one of the most recognisable figures in British popular fiction and Getaway was the ninth in the series. Copies of this title in first print are elusive in commerce.
