Autograph note between suffragettes Beatrice Harraden / Isabel Seymour 1909
CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN SUFFRAGETTES
HARRADEN, Beatrice (1864-1936). Autograph note signed to the suffragette Isabel Seymour, 18 November 1909.
Autograph note card, 110 x 90 mm, written to both sides, together with the original addressed envelope to Mrs Isabel Seymour at Clement's Inn, Strand, W.C. postmarked 19 November 1909. Minor handling wear and small tears to envelope. Very good.
An autograph note from the novelist and suffrage activist Beatrice Harraden to the Women's Social and Political Union organiser Isabel Seymour.
Beatrice Harraden was the author of Ships That Pass in the Night, a founding member of the Women's Social and Political Union, and an active participant in the Women's Writers' Suffrage League. Isabel Seymour was a WSPU organiser and speaker, working from the organisation's headquarters at Clement's Inn, Strand, and undertaking speaking tours in support of women's enfranchisement in Britain and Europe.
The accompanying envelope, addressed to Seymour at 4 Clement's Inn, Strand, preserves the connection with the WSPU headquarters from which much of the organisation's campaigning activity was coordinated. An attractive suffrage association item.
