Autograph letter signed, one folded sheet written on all four sides, each side approximately 180 x 115 mm. Original folds, very good condition.
A letter from the prolific novelist Gertrude Baillie Reynolds to the author, man of letters and journalist Douglas Sladen. Reynolds expresses her delight that Sladen has taken an interest in her "beloved Guild", promising to write to the Central Secretary so that full details and a copy of the constitution can be sent to him. She hopes he may eventually speak on the Guild's behalf. Reynolds also remarks, "Of course I read 'Weeds'", referring to Sladen's recently published novel.
