Single bifolium 180 x 115 mm, written over 3 pages in ink on printed address paper. Old horizontal fold, light creasing and handling, overall very good.

 

Letter by the English composer Frederic Clay, known for his theatrical compositions and collaborations with W. S. Gilbert before the Gilbert & Sullivan partnership. He wrote "I'll sing thee songs of Araby". Writing to a correspondent, Clay discusses non music related matters to do with the London water companies. It is uncommon to find letters written and signed by Frederic Clay.
