Single sheet, folded to four pages, 115 x 180 mm, written on all four sides in ink from Haddo House, Aberdeen and signed. Mounting remnants to the upper edge of the second and third pages, old central fold, otherwise a very good example.
 
A letter written by Lady Aberdeen following the death of the recipient's father. She expresses her condolences. The letter also refers to the recipient's brother's health and concludes with discussion of the "notice of Sir Wilfred manifesto", which Lady Aberdeen intended to publish in a magazine.
 
Lady Aberdeen was one of the leading social reformers and women's campaigners of the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. President of the International Council of Women from 1893 to 1936 and a prominent advocate of public health, temperance and women's rights, she also served as Vicereine of Ireland during her husband's tenure as Lord Lieutenant.
