Autograph letter signed, dated 7 April [1906], from 5 Fourth Avenue, Hove, Brighton. Single sheet, written on one side, approximately 115 x 180 mm. A few minor marks, including a small stain towards the upper-left corner; faint traces of a filing stamp towards the foot. Very Good.
 
Dickinson explains that he is returning to London the following morning and invites her to tea at four o’clock. He also mentions her forthcoming visit to Dunster and adds that “Mrs Macmillan and Mary leave here for three weeks to Arran.”
 
Goldsworthy Lowes Dickinson was a historian, political thinker and Fellow of King’s College, Cambridge, closely associated with the Cambridge Apostles and the circle that developed into the Bloomsbury Group. An internationalist and opponent of war, he became an important early advocate of a league of nations and campaigned actively for international arbitration and cooperation.
