Single sheet folded, written over two sides, 230 x 180 mm. Old folds and a little light handling, otherwise very good.
 
A letter concerning social arrangements, including references to a forthcoming dinner, illustrated by Sambourne with three characteristic pen-and-ink doodles: an umbrella, a small bird and an axe (or perhaps a kite). 
 
Edward Linley Sambourne was one of the leading illustrators and political cartoonists of Punch, contributing to the magazine for more than forty years and eventually becoming its chief cartoonist. The drawings make this a particularly attractive example of his correspondence.
