Autograph envelope by Kaiser Wilhelm II, German Emperor

WILHELM II (1859-1941), German Emperor and King of Prussia. Autograph-addressed envelope, undated.
 
Cream envelope, approximately 210 x 135 mm, addressed in blue ink in a bold hand, apparently to a recipient at Cannes, with a monogram at the lower left all written in the Kaiser's hand. The flap is embossed with a crowned eagle device. Old pencil annotations identify the writing as that of the Emperor of Germany. With mounting residue and paper disturbance to the reverse, some staining and general handling wear, and small areas of surface loss where previously mounted. Good.
 
An interesting piece of German imperial ephemera attributed to Wilhelm II, who was born Friedrich Wilhelm Viktor Albert and became German Emperor and King of Prussia in 1888, reigning until his abdication in 1918 at the end of the Great War.
