Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes by Beatrix Potter first edition with the DW 1917
POTTER, Beatrix. Appley Dapply’s Nursery Rhymes.
London and New York, Frederick Warne and Co., 1917.
16mo (127 × 108 mm). 53 pages. Colour frontispiece and fourteen colour plates throughout by the author. Original olive green paper-covered boards, lettered in red on the upper cover and spine, with inset colour illustration to the upper cover; original printed dust jacket.
A near fine copy, with only a couple of small marks to the corners of the front endpapers. The dust jacket with light rubbing, and very small losses to the corner tips and spine ends, otherwise clean and well-preserved. An unusually fresh example.
First edition of one of the rarer Beatrix Potter titles to be found in the original dust jacket. The first edition had two impressions that were identical. This example stands out for the condition of both the book and the jacket, and is a superior copy. [Quinby 23]
