A child's family postcard sent by Phyllis Pankhurst to her cousin Sylvia Pankhurst during Sylvia’s period in Italy in 1903, prior to the escalation of W.S.P.U. militancy. The brief manuscript message — “Dear Cousin Sylvia, Please write to me … Hope you are well. Phyllis” — was sent at an early moment in Sylvia’s life, she was 21 and training as an artist, before she came to public prominence with the WSPU.
