Young Adolf Signed by Beryl Bainbridge 1st / 1st 1978

Young Adolf Signed by Beryl Bainbridge 1st / 1st 1978

First edition and first print published by Duckworth in 1978. This is a near fine copy. The wrapper has a shade of fading to the spine although it is a lot better example than usually seen retaining some of the colour to the lettering. The wrapper does not have any wear and is not price clipped. The book is also very presentable with no foxing or handling wear. It is inscribed to the title page by the author to fellow writer Brian Masters.

Presented as biographical fiction, the book's main character is 23-year-old Adolf Hitler. Hitler visits relatives in Liverpool, where he gets into serious trouble with the English. The book was adapted for television as The Journal of Bridget Hitler in 1981.
