First edition and no 1050 of the Cornhill Magazine. This is the Winter edition from 1966 / 67 where a then 36 year old Le Carre, fresh from publishing his first four spy novels, contributed an essay called 'What every writer wants'. This copy is in very good condition. There is minor wear to the edges and spine ends. The text block is spotted but the pages free from foxing and other wear. This copy is particularly scarce as it has been signed by Le Carre on the first page of his contribution.
'What every writer wants' is a short essay from Le Carre where he is sharing his thoughts on writing and getting his novels published. He concludes that every authors wants to be read and admired. A scarce title with the authors signature.
