Unconditional Surrender by Evelyn Waugh 1st / 1st 1961
First edition and first print published by Chapman & Hall in 1961. This is a very good ++ copy. The wrapper is very bright and for the most part clean. It has one small mark to the front panel. There are two very small tears to the bottom edge of the front panel also. The wrapper is not price clipped and has retained its colour throughout. The book is very presentable with very little wear at all and no previous owners wear or foxing. Overall a very good ++ copy.
Unconditional Surrender is the third novel in Waugh's Sword of Honour series, the author's examination of the Second World War. The novels loosely parallel Waugh's wartime experiences.
The title is a reference to the Allied demand for an Unconditional Surrender of the Axis, made in the same period in which the plot is set, but which gets an ironical meaning when applied to the protagonist' tangled personal life
