The Whirlpool by Ethel Archer [Aleister Crowley] 1st / 1st 1911

The Whirlpool by Ethel Archer [Aleister Crowley] 1st / 1st 1911

£475.00Price

First edition published by Wieland and Co in 1911. A very good copy. The spine has loss and the remaining portion of the spine is delicate. That said it doesn't affect the binding of the book and it is well bound. There is light foxing to the first few pages. The page gatherings are uncut at the top edge. There is rubbing and wear to the corners. Overall a very good copy of a scarce title.

A collection of poems addressed to Victor Neuburg and Aleister Crowley. It includes an Introduction & Dedication by Crowley, and a poem by Victor Neuburg. Archer was closely associated with Crowley and with the production of the 'Equinox Series'. The front cover illustration is widely regarded as being from Eugene Wieland. A fragile production and has become very rare to find of late.
