£650.00Price

London: Heinemann (1950). First edition.  8vo., black cloth boards, silver lettering to the spine, with the original dust jacket; pp. [viii] 3-188 [ii]; A near fine copy. The jacket hasn't been price clipped displaying 6s. net. The notoriously fragile wrapper is complete and rare thus. There is light edgewear and rubbing to the spine ends and corners. There are three small repaired tears with archival tape on the reverse of the jacket. It is an excellent example.

Graham Greene's novel that came after the classic film noir starring Orson Welles. Greene wrote the screenplay for the film and then decided, such was the film's success that he needed to write the novel. It is rare to find this book in near fine condition due to the fragile nature of the jacket.
