The Tempest by William Shakespeare / Arthur Rackham 1st 1926
First trade edition published by William Heinemann in 1926. This is a near fine copy with the rare dust wrapper. The wrapper is in very nice complete condition with only a small tear to the top right hand corner of the front panel. It is noticably clean and free from marks or browning. There are two versions of the jacket in first print one with a blank back panel and this one, that is advertising other Rackham books and also shows an advertisement for 'Clever Bill' on the inside flap. It shows the correct price of 21s. net on the spine. The book is also in near fine condition with clean pages and plates. A smattering of foxing marks to part of the side text block. Overall a rare near fine example.
20 beautiful colour tipped in plates and also black and white drawings in the text by Arthur Rackham. A lovely copy and rare in this condition.
