London: F. Warne & Co (1909)
12mo; original green boards with a mounted colour illustration of the flopsy bunnies; pp85; first edition, first or second printing with all issue points present as identified by bibliographers Linder and Quinby, including the notice board lettering on page 14 and the correct pictorial endpapers; spine dulled to a brownish colour otherwise a superior copy with very little wear at all; overall near fine.
The sequel to ‘The tale of Benjamin Bunny’, the illustrations in this book are regarded as amongst the author’s finest. Potter drew inspiration from the semi formal gardens of her relatives based in Gwaenynog in Wales. A book in lovely condition and because of this rare. [Linder p428, Quinby 16].
