The Siege of Trencher's Farm (Straw Dogs) Signed by Gordon M. Williams 1st 1969

first edition published by Secker & Warburg in 1969. This is a near fine copy. The wrapper is not price clipped and only has very minor wear to the ends of the lower panel. The book is excellent. The boards are clean and the binding square and firm. Overall it is a superb copy. This one was owned by author Elizabeth Jane Howard and her ownership stamp is on the half title page. The author Gordon Williams has inscribed to her on the front free end paper "To Elizabeth Jane, Some light nay trashy reading for you. Holiday reading. Excuse Stylistics! Gordon". A fantastic inscription between the two authors. The novel would go on to be adapted to the big screen in 1971 and be better known as 'Straw Dogs' starring Dustin Hoffmann.
