This is a near fine copy of Cormac McCarthy's 'The Road' in first edition, first impression. London, Picador, 2006, The dust jacket is with minimal shelf wear, and only with light scuffing at the bottom edge and the top of the spine- it has not been price clipped. The boards are free from chips and marks, aside from light crumpling at the corners. The text blocks are bright and white, without major signs of discolouration of shelf wear. This copy is without previous owner's ink and is in very near fine condition. 

 

The Road is a 2006 post-apocalyptic novel and details the gruelling journey of a father and his young son over a period of several months across a landscape blasted by an unspecified cataclysm that has destroyed industrial civilization and almost all life. The novel was awarded the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for Fiction in 2006. The book was adapted into a film of the same name in 2009, directed by John Hillcoat.
