A first edition and first print published by Heinemann in London 1983. This is a near fine copy. The wrapper has very minor wear along the edges. The wrapper has browning and slight foxing. It has not been price clipped and there are no rips. The text block is clear without browning. However, there is very light foxing to the top of the text block. The pages are clean without any previous owners ink and there are no chips or tears. Overall this copy is in a near fine condition.  

 

The Queen's Gambit is a 1983 American novel by Walter Tevis, exploring the life of fictional female chess prodigy Beth Harmon. A bildungsroman, or coming-of-age story, it covers themes of adoption, feminism, chess, drug addiction and alcoholism. The book was adapted for the 2020 Netflix miniseries of the same name.
