The Kon-Tiki Expedition by Thor Heyerdahl 1st 1950 with the wraparound band

First UK edition published by Allen and Unwin in 1950. This is a very nice near fine copy. There is a couple of small tears to the bottom edge of the jacket that is hard to see along with a tiny amount of wear to the top of the spine. Otherwise the jacket is in complete condition and without any other wear. The jacket hasn't been price clipped. The wraparound band is fine. The book is excellent with only the odd fleck of foxing. Overall a near fine copy. 
 
Thor Heyerdahl's biography of how he and five companions took a raft from Peru to the Pacific Islands. The 4300 mile journey took 101 days. Heyerdahl's journey was made into a film in 2012 and there is a Kon Tiki Museum in Oslo. A rare book to find with the band and in this near fine condition.
