The Kindness of Women Signed by J.G Ballard 1st / 1st 1991
First edition and first print published by Harper Collins in 1991. This is a near fine copy. The wrapper is in excellent condition with no rubbing or wear. The spine is a shade lighter towards the top. It hasn't been price clipped. The book is very nice with no bumping, rubbing or wear to the boards. The pages are free from foxing and there are no previous owners names inside. Overall a near fine copy with this one being signed by the author to the title page without dedication.
This novel is a sequel to the author's 1984 novel Empire of the Sun. The Kindness of Women drew on the author's boyhood in Shanghai during World War II, presenting a lightly fictionalized treatment of Ballard's life from Shanghai through to adulthood in England, culminating with an account of the making of Steven Spielberg's 1987 film Empire of the Sun. A non-fiction account of the same experiences can be found in Ballard's autobiography, Miracles of Life.
