The Hundred and One Dalmatians / Starlight Barking by Dodie Smith 1st 1956-67

First UK editions - a two volume set both published by William Heinemann. The first published was 1. The Hundred and One Dalmatians in 1956. This copy is very good. The dust wrapper has loss / chipping to the top of the spine and top left hand corner of the front panel. The spine has also faded. The book has two bumped corners. Otherwise the book is clean and without marks. The pages are without foxing or handling wear. The sequel to Dalmatians is 2. The Starlight Barking published in 1967. This is a very good copy. The jacket is price clipped and has minor wear to the corners and edges. There are a few light marks to the back panel. The book also has mild wear to the edges and corners. It has foxing marks to the text blocks. Overall a very good set. 
 
Smith's classic children's adventure about Dalmatians, that has been made into an animated film by Disney and then latterly a film starring Glenn Close as Cruella. Both films spawned sequels but they weren't based on Dodie Smith's own sequel The Starlight Barking. A rare first edition set.
