The Handmaids Tale / The Testaments Signed by Margaret Atwood 1st 1986/2019

First UK editions. A two volume set. The first volume A Handmaid's Tale was published by Jonathan Cape in 1986. The second The Testaments was published by Chatto & Windus in 2019. Both copies are in stunning fine condition. The pages for The Handmaid's Tale has browned which is common for this title. Both have not been price clipped and there is no wear to speak of. An excellent set. Also very rare as both copies have been signed by the author to the title page without dedication. 
 
Margaret Atwood's classic dystopian novels about the Republic of Gilead that overthrows the US Government. The novels explore themes around subjugation and the patriachy. Both novels are critically acclaimed with The Handmaids Tale receiving many awards  and was included in the top 70 books to read in the big Jubilee read. The follow up The Testaments won the booker prize in 2019. Recently adapted to a tv series. An exceptional set and particularly so signed.
