The Hambledon Men by E.V. Lucas 1st / 1st 1907
First edition and first print published by Henry Frowde in 1907. This is a very good copy. The wrapper is very complete with nothing missing such as chips or loss. But it does have a long tear along the fold by the side of the spine. Otherwise the wrapper is very clean and has no marks at all. The book also has barely any blemishes with the odd rubbing mark to the spine ends. No previous owners ink. This book is in very good condition.
The Hambledon Men is a collection of great batsmen and bowers before the round-arm came in. The poem ballade of dead cricketers by Andrew Lang is in this volume as is a young cricketers tutor and an essay on the Hambledon Club. There are several full page illustrations throughout. A rare title in the wrapper.
