This is a first edition and first print published by Doubleday in London 1995. Illustrated by Nick Harris. This copy is near fine. The spine has a few small dents and the corners have some minor wear. The text block does not have any marks but it does have slight browning and foxing. The pages are clean without previous owners ink. There are no chips or tears. Overall, this copy is in a near fine condition.
Lila is a Firework-Maker’s daughter, who desperately wants to follow in her father’s footsteps. Lalchand is her father, who believes that, despite her talents, it is not a job for a girl. Lila can’t accept her father’s decision, so she goes off on a quest to face the Fire-Fiend and collect the Royal Sulphur she needs to be able to make the finest fireworks.
