The Centurions Xan Fielding / Jean Larteguy 1st / 1st 1961

First UK edition published by Hutchinson in 1961. This is a very good copy. The superb Biro dustwrapper has some wear along the bottom edge of the front panel and bottom of the spine. There are two closed tears that have been repaired to the reverse and small tears to the lower spine. There is wear to the corner tips. It hasn't been price clipped and overall the jacket is fairly complete. The book is in excellent condition being square and with a tight binding. The pages are very clean. There is a previous owners gift inscription to the front free end paper. Overall a very good copy.
 
Translated by Xan Fielding, this is the first english language edition of the award winning novel by Jean Larteguy about a band of French Paratroop officers. A modern classic and becoming rarer to find in very good condition.
