The Bottle Factory Outing Signed by Beryl Bainbridge 1st / 1st 1974

First UK edition and first print published by Duckworth in 1974. This is a near fine copy. The wrapper has only very mild handling wear. It is not price clipped showing the correct price of £2.35. The book is very presentable with no wear, ink or marks at all. Overall a near fine copy and rare with the author's signature on the title page without inscription. 
 
The novel was shortlisted for the Booker Prize, won the Guardian Fiction Prize and is regarded as one of the author's best. It is also listed as one of the 100 greatest novels of all time by Robert McCrum of The Observer. The book was inspired by Beryl Bainbridge's own experiences working as a cellar girl in a bottling factory after her divorce in 1959.
