First UK edition published by Perpetua Books in 1958. This is a very good copy. The wrapper is a shade browned on the spine. There is a tear on the top of the back inside flap. There is also another tear in the bottom corner of the back panel. The book has some rubbing to the spine ends. Overall a very good copy, this one having the illustrator Ronald Searles signature below the frontispiece that he illustrated. He has also dated it in the year of publication. Very rare to have a copy of this book signed by Searle in this way. A series of essays about life in London that has been illustrated throughout by Searle.
