The Ballad of Peckham Rye by Muriel Spark 1st / 1st 1960

First edition and first print published by Macmillan in 1960. This is a very good + copy. The wrapper has some minor wear to the spine ends, along the edges and to the corners. The jacket is very complete with no loss, tears or chips. It is also not price clipped showing the correct 1st issue price of 15s net. The panels are very clean with the back of the cover clear and mark free. The boards display a faint ghost mark of the front cover design. The pages are very clean with no foxing or previous owners ink. Textblock is clear of foxing marks also. Overall a very good + copy.

The author's 5th novel tells the story of a Scottish migrant, Dougal Douglas, who moves to Peckham in London and wreaks havoc amongst the lives of the inhabitants.
