The Anatomy of Frustration by H.G. Wells 1st / 1st 1936
£125.00Price
First UK edition published by Cresset Press in 1936. This is a very good copy. The jacket has archival tape repairs on the reverse of the jacket along the top edge. There is also a closed tear on the back panel, and a tiny tear on the top of the front panel also. The corners and spine ends are rubbed in places. It is not price clipped. The book is in excellent condition with no foxing or ink. Overall a very good copy.
An unusual book in many ways, Wells writes about a fictional author who copies Robert Burton's approach in his work 'Anatomy of Melancholy' with an updated version called 'The Anatomy of Frustration'. Wells uses his narrator as a mouthpiece to say what he thinks about frustration in modern society.
