Sexing the Cherry Signed by Jeanette Winterson 1st / 1st 1989
First UK edition and first print published by Bloomsbury in 1989. This is a near fine copy. The wrapper is very complete with only minor wear to the corner tips. It is not price clipped and not faded at all. The book is also very clean and presentable with no previous owners marks. The top textblock has very light foxing marks. Overall a near fine copy and signed by the author to the title page without dedication.
Set in 17th century London, Sexing the Cherry is about the journeys of a mother, known as The Dog Woman, and her protégé, Jordan. They journey in a space-time flux: across the seas to find exotic fruits such as bananas and pineapples; and across time, with glimpses of "the present" and references to Charles I of England and Oliver Cromwell.
