Seven Winters signed by Elizabeth Bowen 1st Cuala 1942

First edition and first impression published by The Cuala Press in 1942. 1 of only 450 copies published by The Cuala Press and scarce signed by the author to the title page. The book is in very good + condition. There is some light speckling to the top of the front board and chipping to the label otherwise it is in a very presentable condition. All the pages are clean and free from dirt, marks or ink. A scarce signed copy of the true 1st edition of Elizabeth Bowen's autobiography.

A unique daughter of Anglo-Irish parents, Elizabeth Bowen was born in Dublin in June 1899. She describes her first seven winters in this city through the eyes of a child who could not read until seven years and whose imagination was nourished only by what she saw and heard.
