Recessional by Rudyard Kipling 1st / 1st 1914
£35.00Price
Published by Methuen in 1914 this is a 8vo printed single folded card (17 x 11cm approx) comprising title with floral borders and advertisment to rear printed in black. This is a fine copy with no wear or marks at all. It is free from previous owners handling wear. A fine example.
The poem Recessional was written in celebration of Queen Victoria s Diamond Jubilee in 1897, and is best-known as the first appearance of the phrase Lest We Forget. It is sometimes used as a hymn during Remembrance Services. A scarce ephemeral item in particularly nice condition.
