Recessional by Rudyard Kipling 1st 1915

£70.00Price

Published by Methuen in 1915. First edition thus with the poem first being written in 1897 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. The poem was then published in that year in The Spectator. A seperate issue was printed in 1914 and then this elaborately produced edition was published in 1915. This edition certainly nicely produced illuminated in colours and gold by Henrietta Wright. In stiff wrappers. This copy is in near fine condition with very little if any wear. No marks on the wrappers or inside. It comes with the scarce original unused envelope that is in good condition only having loss along the edges and several tears. Overall a very nice near fine copy with its original envelope.
