Pavements at Anderby by Winifred Holtby 1st / 1st 1937

Pavements at Anderby by Winifred Holtby 1st / 1st 1937

First UK edition and first print published by Collins in 1937. This is a very good +++ copy. The rare jackety has some edgewear to the spine ends and corners. There is a 3 cm tear to the top right hand corner of the front panel. It is not price clipped displaying the correct price of 7s 6d. It is a nice example of the jacket that is often prone to loss. The book with oatmeal boards is in nice condition with very little handling wear. Overall a very good +++ copy.

Published posthumously, this is a collection of Holtby's short stories collated by H.S. Reid and Vera Brittain. Anderby in the title is a village and was the setting of the author's first book. A rare book with the jacket.
