Oxford Poetry 1942-1943 Philip Larkin 1st / 1st 1943
£300.00Price
First UK edition published by Basil Blackwell in 1943. This is a near fine copy. In the original stiff dark blue card covers with a white paper label on the front. Edges untrimmed. There is a crease to the top right hand corner of the upper wrapper. Spine is crease free and there are no marks on the covers. The pages are very clean. Overall a very nice near fine copy.
Published in June 1943 in an edition of only 500 copies, this would be Larkin's first contribution to a collection of poetry, having only appeared in print in periodicals beforehand. He contributed three poems : A Stone Church Damaged by a Bomb; Mythological Introduction and Poem. It is rare to find this title in near fine condition. [Bloomfield B1]
