My Dog Tulip by J.R. Ackerley 1st / 1st 1956 with ALS
First edition published by Secker & Warburg in 1956. The book is in near fine condition. The wrapper is bright and without marks. The spine is a shade browned. It has not been price clipped. The book in brown cloth is excellent. The recipient of the letter, journalist T.C. Worsley has signed his name in pencil on the front free end paper.
Loosely inserted into the front of the book is a creased two-page letter from Joe Ackerley to fellow writer and journalist T.C. (Cuthbert) Worsley, dated 17/7/58 the year of publication. Ackerley thanks Worsley for the "kind and sensitive piece about my booklet in the N.S. last week". Worsley reviewed the book in the New Statesman a week previous. Ackerley goes on to mention how in his own magazine his editor spared his embarrassment and reviewed the book on his behalf and that he hoped the reviews might "make a penny or two, which I having hoped to do". A near fine book owned by Journalist Cuthbert Worsley with an excellent letter by Ackerley to him, tucked in the front.
