Minute For Murder by Nicholas Blake 1st / 1st 1947
First UK edition published by Collins Crime Club in 1947. This is a very good ++ copy. The wrapper has some minor wear to the spine edges and corner tips. There is a crease to the bottom of the front panel. It is price clipped. The back panel is remarkably clean and bright. The book is in very nice condition with clean boards and pages. There is very little handling wear at all. Overall a very good ++ copy.
The Second World War has just finished and amateur detective and poet Nigel Strangeways is working at the Ministry of Morale in London, in the Visual Propaganda Division. With the war over, life seems to be calm again, that is until the director's beautiful secretary is poisoned in full view of seven members of the division, including Nigel himself. Who could have killed her? And how?
