Lithographe 1 by Marc Chagall 1st / 1st 1960

FIRST EDITION published by Andre Sauret in 1960. This is a near fine copy. The lithograph wrapper has a small tear to  the bottom right of the front panel. Otherwise the wrapper and the book are in excellent condition as are all the pages and lithographs that are tipped in throughout the book.
 
This first volume (there were a further 4 published) boasts 12 lithographs. These include the wrapper, the frontispiece and a further 10 all in place throughout the book. The extensive catalogue raisonne would eventually stretch to 5 volumes with most of the lithographs appearing in the first 2 volumes. As such it makes this the first volume very rare to have everything in place and in nice condition.
