L.M.8046 The War Diary of a Legionnaire by David W. King 1st / 1st 1929
London: Arrowsmith (1929). First UK edition in very good condition. The dust wrapper is in the main complete with some wear to the corners and spine ends. There is a small tear to the top right hand corner of the front panel. The book is in nice condition with only a small amount of browning to the front free end paper. Overall a very good copy and scarce with the illusive dust wrapper.
David Wooster King was an american citizen and was a student at Harvard University. He subsequently enlisted in the French Foreign Legion. He later transferred to the French Army, then in November 1917 was commissioned as a 1st lieutenant in the United States Army. An unusual biography about life in the Foreign Legion and on the western front.
