This is a very good ++ copy of Kingsley Amis' 'Jake's Thing' in first edition, first impression. London, Hutchinson & Co., 1978. The dust jacket is subject to moderate fading on the spine and the front right-hand edge, it is free from major marks or wear and it has been price clipped. There is light foxing present. The boards are free from chips and marks and remain sharp at the corners. The text blocks are bright and white, and free from any notable wear. Overall this is a very good ++ copy.

The novel follows the life of Jacques 'Jake' Richardson, a 59-year-old Oxford don who struggles to overcome the loss of his libido. Questionably based on Philip Larkin, whom is loosely resembled on the frontal illustrations.
