Hours of Idleness by Lord George Gordon Byron 1st 1807

First edition, second issue published by S. and J. Ridge, Newark, 1807. This copy is in very good ++ condition. Bound in modern half calf with marbled boards with raised bands and gilt titles / motif. Without the half-title and with new end papers. The title page is browned in places. Overall the pages are clean with only the odd mark. The second issue may be distinguished from the first by the correction to "thunder" on p.114, line 4 and "The" on p.181, line 21. Page 171 is misnumbered 71 and p.22, line 2, reads "Those tissues of falsehood which Folly has wove".

The title-page classifies Byron as "A Minor". it was his first regularly published book and the work which publically launched his literary career. Includes fugitive pieces.
