Honour Among Thieves Signed Presentation Copy by Jeffrey Archer 1st / 1st 1993
First UK edition published by Harper Collins in 1993. This is a very good copy. The wrapper has faded to the spine to a pea green. The front board has a bumped corner. The top text block has the odd foxing mark. Overall very good.
This is Margaret Thatcher's press secretary Bernard Ingham's copy. On the title page it is simply signed "to Bernard Jeffrey Archer". The two would be colleagues within the conservative party during the 1980's up to the point Archer was convicted and sent to prison in his libel case. Ingham said of Archer at the time "I think it is a personal and political tragedy. His is yet another terribly wasted talent. It is all very sad, but I think he was an almost obsessive chancer. He relived his books." An interesting presentation copy between these two well known political figures of the conservative party.
